Paint stripper?
Discussion
Hi
I was momentarily pleased when I read that marine paint stripper doesn’t work on twin pack, but should be okay on cellulose. So, as my car is in original paint, bought some. Unfortunately it doesn’t work on cellulose either…
I am going to DA sand most of it, paint is pretty thin coat anyway. But, tricky corners. Anyone found mild paint stripper that actually works?
Thx.
Nic

Hey Nic,
I've been stripping many layers of paint from my Berkeley project. I've been using Coopers Strip Club stripper, which ships over from NZ.
It's not cheap unfortunately, but it does work just how they show in this video:

Hi Andy
Indeed, $245 for the smaller starter pack. How much did you find you needed?
Thx

I didn’t bother with the starter pack as wire wool etc can be sourced east enough. You have to pay VAT/import on top too, so not cheap!
I think this stuff has the banned nitromores in it, but the don’t have such laws in NZ.
I used about 2.5l to do both sides of my Berkeley and I ran out! Small car but 4-6 layers of paint to remove.
I’ve got another 5l here now so I can finish it off. Where in the country are you, perhaps I can decant some for you?
