1971 Vixen 2500 with a 1974 2500TC engine. My temperature is always reading too hot. Scary sometimes. But its been tested as running the correct temperature, so its safe. Anyone know the correct sender unit please?

Thanks.

Have you got AC or Smiths gauges, different senders for each

The 4 little gauges are AC including the temperature one. Rev and speedo are Smiths.

Thanks.

Delco 5280 (or sometimes 52800) is the correct one for a Ford Xflow engined car using AC gauges. Don’t know if the fitting is the same on the Triumph engine though.

What voltage are the gauges.
I know Smiths are 10 Volts so a Voltage Stabiliser is in circuit.
You can buy adjustable Voltage Stabilisers
To adjust Voltage.

What about a gauge genie?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304219657701?mkcid=16&a...

I got one for my Chimaera fuel gauge, but in the end the gauge was faulty so I have it spare. They work on fuel or temperature systems. The one I have isn't quite the same as this, but it definitely has instructions for temp guages.

PM me, you can have mine if you like.

Thanks for all your help so far. I've got a new temperature sender on the way, going to try that first.

My overdrive has just stopped working now......oh the joys!

My Volvo 740 used to do that when the gearbox oil was low (it did have a small leak).
