Speedo cable issues
Discussion
I've had the same problems.
The speedo cable issue I have fixed by removing at the gear box then pulling the end of inner so that it is protruding as far as possible. Using a very thin pair of pliers I then carefully slot the end of the inner into the gearbox receiver before pushing the outer into place and clamping it. This seems to resolve the issue - which IMHO is the inner needs to protrude further from the outer to enable it to more easily fit together correctly.
The rev counter stopped working one day and it had to be sent off to a specialist who replaced some internal electrical components. It wasn't straight forward though as they advised me to pay them extra to upgrade the unit at the same time to work with more modern electronic ignition systems. The upgrade never worked and the needle was so erratic that it was unusable. I eventually got them to downgrade it back to as before and since it all has worked fine again.
Hope this helps, although of course your issues could be completely different.
Good luck Moto

Main problem ive got is the cable only just sits in the gearbox end. It does not nicely slot in, its like its slightly bigger. Speedo dial end fits in fully and just nice.

That's what I was trying to say. The tip above together with my suggestion will hopefully work for you.
Good luck

Ady, Sykes Pickavant used to produce a tool for squaring the inner cables, you bought the inner by the roll. Many moons ago I worked in a country garage and used one on a regular basis. Try an old school garage. (My old workplace still has theirs)
