Yes I've seen the add how much do you think it's worth as is? I'm looking for a project car to keep me going for years.

DVLA Check say buildt 1960 not road registered or tax but V5 last issue was 1985

A new body would be under £2500 provided the doors fit which would save trying to fit the old roof and a huge amount of prep. Engine has nice rocker cover but is it MGA? Gearbox looks like early MG. It’s got potential IMO.

That’s the one. Potentially under 6k for a new body and the eBay car, if it’s the right engine had to be worth a punt.

The seller wrote me its a 7Fxxx, so I would guess it originally was equipped with a small Ford engine.

Looks like a good project car. I’m having a bid on this as my father in law retired a couple of years ago and is a bit lost for things to do now. Think it will be good project for us to do together.

There won't be any chassis number stamped on the chassis. There is a brass chassis ID plate screwed to the bukhead with 4 brass furniture screws usually. The owner should have this if its been removed to work on the car

That’s an MGA engine in the photos, so period.

Sold for £4100 - anyone on here?

So for £6,500 inc new body and I reckon that’s a great price.

I bid, but wasn’t successful.

I was too far away to go an view beforehand, but it was going to need a lot more than just a shell to get it right.

It will be a lovely car if someone dedicates the time and does it right I’m sure, but I’d imagine it’ll cost a lot more than that to get it done unless you had a donor car already.

I wish the successful bidder the best of luck smile

I think that's a bargain. It was never going to be a low cost project but to get all that for just £4K - well done to whoever clap. Especially if the body on eBay can be purchased also.

Don't get me wrong, there'll be a LOT of work & £'s to get it done but as a starting point - fantastic.

Good luck to the purchaser and I hope we hear from them here on PH.

A good buy IMO and a relatively easy rebuild. Let’s face it there won’t be a lot to it!
