Fitting new windscreen seals
Discussion
I saw a post describing how it should be done. Our expert Adrian advised to use a silicone based sealant. What is not clear to me is do you put sealant:
1. between rubber and glass
2. between rubber and body
So you first put sealant in the rubber to seal it on the body? Fit the rubber on the body. Then sealant where the windscreen should sit in. Then Put the windscreen in position and "peel" the rubber over the edges of the screen.
Also, if you cut the seal to the right lenght, how much overlap do you use? I did read that no sealant should be applied where the 2 end of the rubber meet (?).
Just to get it clear. Perhaps being dutch is the reason I did not understand the steps that are needed in fitting completely.

When you fit the Seal to the Body as you go along try to compress along it's length to use as much seal as possible. That way the Butt of the two ends are under compression. Cut end with NEW VERY SHARP blade or Open Razor on block of wood so cut is square. A little water will help lubricate Blade nice and easy gently.
For the Chrome Locking Strip ends you can get a little finisher used on classic Minis ( it hides the join in locking strip).
