Vixen engine mounts
Discussion
Anyone found a supplier for Vixen engine mounts. They're from the Ford parts bin I think from a Escort/Cortina. I can't find a supplier of the original style although there are plenty of 'World Cup' ones available. These seem to differ from original square rubber bonded to metal frame in that they're round rubber bobbin with a separate frame. Anyone tried these - any good / do they fit?

I can't say if they're a direct replacement for the rectangular style but they seem to work fine for me. You can always pack / shim behind the mount to achieve the same thickness. See here for the parts I used : https://www.retroford.co.uk/product/engine-mount-r... (note - not world cup!)

Thx, useful to know they work OK. If I can't get the OE type that'll be my route forward.Moto
The original rectangular bonded type (Cortina) are NLA new but they still turn up as NOS on ebay and at autojumbles.
The rubber doughnut type (Escort) are available in the same lengths as the Cortina ones and work just fine in a Vixen so long as you get the correct length for your block.
World Cup mounts are completely different as the isolator element is in the cross member so they are only suitable for the original application (Escort).

So is it feasible to remove the bonded rubber rectangular block off of the OE metal leg and drill a hole through the back plate to bolt the bobbin to. Or do I need to procure new legs with the bobbins? The rubber doughnut type (Escort) are available in the same lengths as the Cortina ones and work just fine in a Vixen so long as you get the correct length for your block.
