M Series Kerb Weight
Discussion
Yep, seems to be quite a range depending on who you want to believe. Have seen just under 900kg upto 1050kg quoted but I guess some could actually be Kent engine numbers & I've no clue where the Triumph 6 cylinder & accompanying gearbox ranks vs the Essex. I'd guess the Essex is worst case & the all iron gearbox + bellhousing only making matters worse!

My 2500M Owners Handbook gives the following information:
Kerb - basic: 1116Kg, 2240lb
Max gross vehicle weight: 1202Kg, 2650lb
I would expect the 3000M would be similar if not slightly higher. I suspect that your 900 - 1050Kg figures are on the low side for an unmodified vehicle.

Just noticed the typo in my TVR Handbook - Kerb weight should be 1016Kg - close enough for TVR!!!Kerb - basic: 1116Kg, 2240lb
Max gross vehicle weight: 1202Kg, 2650lb

Well found Mr Tiger!
After reading GTRene's comment I have had a look through the info and have a few comments to add:
I would expect 2500M & 3000M to be similar (3000M maybe slightly heavier due to fuel load, gearbox and diff) and 1600M considerably lighter under the same conditions.

I also came across some weight info in my TVR car books, but read them long time ago... but there were also many old test articles combined in 1 or 2 books, I remember something like, a 3000 taimar was almost 100kg more heavy then a 3000M I found that a bit much, others claimed a bit les of a difference.
I forgot the title of that TVR book, but it was full with TVR test of those early years, I have maybe 8 or so books
