I use a Brise gear starter and would recommend it.

Bought one of these last year, so far so good, whizzes the engine over nicely, but of course it doesn't exactly get used a lot.

Some of the Ford replacement starter motors come as geared now for around £80 to £100 mark, just changed the Pinto type one on my Vixen
