Taimar Chassis tube sizes
Discussion
Hi
After many years I am now in a position to start working on my Taimar. which as been off the road since 1998!
I am preparing to remove the body to renovate the chassis which although rusty appears solid but will need some attention here and there. Does anyone have info on the original chassis tube sizes (particular outriggers) (a) because I want to see if mine have lost metal through rust and (b) if I need to buy replacement sections
Also does anyone have a list of suppliers for TVR Taimar parts - I am seeing a lot of stuff that needs replacing.
Cheers Rob

Yes, I replaced the two longitudinal outriggers on Steve’s S with metric true bore stainless steel tube, 40mm I/d so the O/D on it is 43 or 44mm, I can’t remember if I used 1.5 or 2mm wall pipe, ( it was about 1995).
Any other areas replaced, either round or square was 2mm thick mild steel.
It was all TIG welded.
