Tour de France Granny or Griff
Discussion
My friends and I were watching a documentary titled European Road Racing, on Amazon Prime last weekend. A longer segment was on the Tour de France. There was some discussion about a race between “Tourist” entries, which included a number of Jaguar Mk X looking cars. There was a shot showing what looked to me like an early Granny or Griff, wearing a solid, light color livery.
I’m letting you all know this in the hope that it helps with any eligibility issues, of the very early cars, and just because it was a fun bit of car spotting.
I also thought I saw a couple of dark color cars, a little later, with a narrow tricolor stripe down the center of the car.

Great film of the Tour de France - but sadly I don't think that there were any TVRs entered in 1960. Maybe the Alfas looked similar.

It was a low shot, with the cars passing to the right of the camera. First a dark Jaguar sedan came past, then, what I thought was a light colour, early Grantura. We froze the image, stared at it, concurred.
I also looked through the entry list and didn’t find it.
I could imagine that a de-bumpered 356 might have fooled me, but I remember trying to make out the grille opening shape.
If I have time, I’ll look for it.
