A lot of works and with a reserve not met (maybe I'm weird but I have never understood this reserve concept... just put your worst case scenario selling price as a starting point).
If only we were able to visit you in the UK...

It’s a nice one. Originally light blue I believe.

its just to give the "potenital buyers" the feeling of an auciton (placing nids), and keep the seller in confidence that the car wont be sold under the sellers set-value.

this said, it also gives the seller a certain "tool" to push the price by shill-bidding using accounts from mates or asking mates /friends to bid, wihtout having the risk that finally a mate has pruchased the car and the seller has to pay the ebay fees.

as long as the reserve hasnt been met no fees apply.

anybody who thinks that he can make a bargain at ebay and thinks that ebay is a real auction is totally wrong....i guess 90% of all auctions are manipulated to achieve the "expected" price.

You guess wrong .

I've sold over 100 items since I started selling in August ,not one of them has been " manipulated ".

On the contrary eBay is a brilliant tool to find parts and stuff that it would otherwise be impossible to track down, and for selling its enabled me to clear out decades of what I regard as junk that people seem happy to keep paying me for!
Looking carefully at sellers history soon sorts out who is a scammer.

Same advert, good luck to him someone will buy it if they want a Tuscan there aren’t many left to find like that.

....having said that it’s at least the third ‘barn find’ in this condition this year!

It’s clearly to do with hiding the cars ID which isn’t exactly being ‘open’ to buyers and just arouses suspicion.
The times I’ve asked an eBay seller what the reg is I’ve just got ‘why do you want to know?’ ...err what are you hiding?

than you are a real honest person.

observing my circle of friends and acquaintances, who do lots of ebay sales, there is hardly ANY item which isnt manipulated by shill-bidding etc.

and i´m speaking here of 60persons....and they all have minimum 3 ebay accounts in their "family"

havent you ever wondered how professional sellers are managing to offer items without reserve and they always reach a ertain price-level not making loss?

e*ay is a complete lie at the end of the day....just a few sellers (mainly private) are still reasonably honest.

on the other side i must agree that ebay is sometimes a really good source for parts. this said, ebay has meanwhile built-up a kind of monopole...what would we all do without ebay?

It would be a great project if it was sensibly priced.

Sensible price is personal and depends on your pocket. Or your love of TVRs and classic cars.
