Nothing constructive to add, other than that is one pretty little M.

You know what you need to do OP...

Haha, yep indeed. I'm hoping they'll be someone on here that appears with some history. I haven't approached the selling dealer yet - so to be fair they may have the 'story'....

It does look to be a very nice example and a fair price. What is it you want to know about it's history?

If you're serious I wouldn't hang about for long as if it is as nice as it looks it will probably go very quickly.

Good luck

Imho i wouldn't rate the paintwork too much if they couldn't paint the engine bay the same colour.

Thanks for your observations TVRM's, appreciated. Just to be clear I wasn't asking for peoples opinions on it, but whether anyone on here was familiar with it/previous owners/any history. regards

Observations
Wiring needs a tidy, looks like it’s been colour changed without the engine bay being done. 14 year old resto and no chassis pics. Not a lot of details relating to the resto? Nothing about the paintwork.

Looks nice though.

It’s either a nice car at the money or no better than a running restoration. Need to view it rather than mess around with photo requests and asking what everyone else that’s not seen it thinks.

Harsh but true - if it’s as nice as it looks you’ll miss it. smile

Fine, just ignore the observations and the advice as you didn't ask for either.

I should have asked, can anyone please recommend someone for an inspection on this who is knowledgeable on the classics?

You could possibly broaden the response to that question by joining

https://www.facebook.com/groups/ClassicTVR

and asking on there?

I don't know of anyone that would provide that service in or near the Essex area personally.

OP your best bet is to have a chat with the dealer first, the right approach should find out a lot of what you need to know.

Thanks. Yep, spoken to dealer and no history prior to 2006 (which includes no history of restoration)!

Is DVLA for previous owners an option if you're not the current owner?

You could contact the local TVR CC regional organiser and ask if he knows any local club member who may be willing to go and take a look with you. Contacts are in the Sprint magazine. Also the TVRCC may have info on some of the older cars, so it may be known to them. Possibly worth speaking with Ollie Edwards - Pre80's Ed.

Cheap price to pay for info.

I have just sold a car...

The guy rang me up and said.. Can I come and have a look at your car.
I said Yes, Anytime! To which he responded How about Tuesday just after Lunch?

On Tuesday afternoon he bought the car.. It was like a breath of fresh air !! biggrin
