Yes ....... http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/uploads/9/5/1/5/9515...Swap transmissions from non Laycock De Normanville O/D to O/D type. Use one with an A type, not J type. A type is stronger, and better suited to any engine performance upgrades your friend might perform, or that the car may already have.
Adding the Laycock O/D to an existing gearbox involves several costly parts. Shorter tail shaft being the one that comes to mind immediately.
