Well........if you scroll down closer to the bottom of their add you will find a Griffith 200.

Although, you will need to spend a wee bit more time searching under the sofa cushions for a tad more change.
Listed at 145 pounds. Thousand that be. : )

short while ago a lovely griffith 200 with high output went for under 75k talked(writing) a few times to that seller, was interested in buying but became a bit difficult for me, but great price and a lovely car.

I agree, that it seems high, but I suspect that the price reflects the level of workmanship and competitiveness.

I’m sorting a little racer, right now, and it’s as though everything I look at has problems. It is financial liberty, that allows a car owner to be able to step into a car, and know it will be competitive, without them having to lift a finger to prepare it. Alternatively, mechanical aptitude and sympathy will compensate for financial wherewithal.

Either way, I thought it looked like a pretty nice car.

The car is on the money for a very well prepared and eligible for anything historic race car. You would struggle to build one so competitive for that kind of money... And I am sorry but that sort of money won't get you a 200 or 400 these days without needing a full restoration carried out...

GT Rene I have been watching your posts about car values for about 10 years now. Do you think you will ever get around to buying yourself a TVR ? smile

can I not discuss a price? because you are a die hard TVR man and I'm just a fan? even if I never buy one again, what do you care?

peace bro, keep those talks for yourself, will suit you better, thanks.

+1 please be nice, the forum is to share knowledge and not back bite.
Maybe this is an effect of the "Shutdown".
We don't all have enough money to buy but we can dream and share our passion.

The restoration of an early TVR is a very expensive process especially if you want to make it into a FIA Historic race car. I do not reckon that the Grantura is unreasonable money as long as it is a good car and not a pile of knackered parts which I am sure it is not

Is the Grantura for sale because the owner doesn't want to race it anymore.

People that have never build a competitive race car have no idea what it cost to build something like that, the time spend on the preparation of parts, the mechanical sort out, the build and then all the testing before the car can be entered in a race, it is mind blowing.
Build for a customer in the early nineties a FIA MGB that car cost him at that time around 40,000.00 Dutch guilders was probably at that time one of the most expensive MGB but it was successful in the first season straight away.

I completely agree. Nigel Reuben carried out the absolutely superb restoration of my Griffith.
I raced it SPA for the first time last year and won both races. You can't get better than that.
