I think it was for sale on an auction site in Australia a couple of years ago. To me it looks in the photos to be a nice car. Yes a number of minor mods, some of which are down to taste & personal view on originality. But if you want a Tuscan V8 there probably won't be another along for a very long time.

Not an expert on the MAL Tuscans but, If i was paying all that money I would like to see body bonded to chassis, chrome plated window frames without quarter lights and 67 door handles. The original wooden dash makes the interim very special and the correct Tuscan bonnet fitted gives a very sleek look (though very few still have these) Otherwise its looks just like a Vixen with a V8. Not that I'm doubting casting any doubt on this car, just suggesting if you are paying for a special car the experience is more than just the engine.

Likewise I'm no expert on Tuscans but I've just copied this from the TVRCC site :1968 - A second series of LWB Tuscans were produced which were given a MAL xxx chassis number. A lot of parts on these cars were commonised with the Vixen including the chassis. the bonnet and the interior. The Vixen S2/S3 chassis was slightly different from the previous LWB chassis and the bonnet had a pair of air scoops and vents.

The first few of these cars followed the traditional TVR method of bonding the body to the chassis, but the later cars adopted a new method of bolting the body to the chassis.
I do agree that £60k is a lot of money for what is basically a Vixen with a V8 engine. It's not my thing either as I prefer Vixen's with small & lightweight engines. IMHO they suit the car. But it does seem to be inline with what the Car Club say a Tuscan V8 (MALxx) should be (ish).
