Any Irish TVR M series owners?
Discussion
Hello all
I've just joined the forum. I'm retired and live in Co. Cork.
I bought a new 3000M in 1977 as my only vehicle and have mainly very good memories of it. Now many years later, I'm looking to get hold of a Taimar for some fun driving.
It has to be a classic TVR because of the penal rates of import and road tax over here. As a rough guide, it would cost about 8000EU to import a Chim. and the annual road tax + insurance would be a mere 2000EU.
My only reservation is whether I'm not too decrepit to get in and out of a Taimar (or M). Hope I'm not looking through rose tinted specs!
So my question is: are there any 3000M or Taimar owners on the island of Ireland? If so would one of you kind souls contact me with a view to meeting up so that I could try to get in and out of your vehicle without doing myself (and the car) a mischief. Assuming all is OK, I will search for a suitable chariot.

Hi Dave
Yes not planning on leaving the UK permanently yet even though some might like that.
However if you pop into my Brothers Gallery in Kinsale and have a chat as we did a Taimar restoration a few years ago for him to accompany his 70s Porsche which i sorted here as well for him
He was keeping them down in Bandon however now he has moved into the new house may well be at Kinsale now.
I am sure he would be delighted to help you may even persuade him to part with it stranger things have happened and with to many toys and other distractions who knows.
A few pictures the last one was at the classic car show at the RDS the year it was done.

I tried to reply yesterday, but because I'm a newbie here I was obviously seen as a potential undesirable and it wouldn't let me. How did they know?!
Thanks for your encouraging reply, Andrew. I live in Leap, about an hour's drive to Kinsale or Bandon so it would be quite easy to visit your bro.
Won't be this weekend - 6 Nations takes priority.
That's a nice car. Yours or your brother's?
