Now that Mr Venn is no longer trading, who is recommended for brake/suspension parts etc.. As far as I can see, there's TVR parts Ltd, Rimmers, Paddocks and Moss. Just enquiring if anyone knows a few others. I will be needing a reconditioned rear hub assembly soon and would prefer to pick the supplier by recommendation

If anyone is struggling to obtain any parts etc for any classic TVR I do provide a parts service mainly as a service to my restoration customers
However I can source and provide parts as required to help any enthusiast out who may be struggling.

Good to hear about your plans to launch a website for the older TVRs. With Adrian Venn now retired (great shame) there really is a need for someone else with the know-how to carry on supporting the marque. As a non-Facebook user, I'm glad you'll have a website too.

Noticed a lot of Facebook resentment expressed.
I live in tech central - San Francisco - and work in the field.
And - yea - not 1/2 mile from Zucky's SF compound.
Possibly as the individual most qualified to comment on this anti FB bias (I jest) - I have the following observation:
The only folks to use Facebook we know are in entertainment.
For them it is imperative to have as much "social media" exposure as possible.
FB has been recognized as a data collection and marketing scheme from almost day one.
Folks (tech and otherwise) around here loathe FB and its Kommandant.
Setting up a website is fairly simple these days.
Keeping it updated and relevant does become a chore.
Please make an effort to ensure a delivery methodology to your former colonies.
Sometimes one gets the feeling we should have never left.
Rule Britannia.

I came across this site, which is a now up and running with a useful range of Pre 80s parts that have been difficult to find, previously. Andrew continues to get new items in stock so always worth a check when we are hunting around for bits

Its been something i have wanted to see done for years and ideally i thought the Club may have done, however they felt which i understand is that they felt it was not there role and they do what they do really well.
So this has been in the planning for the last year or so and the Lock down and hibernating my gift company as the retail shops where closed gave me time to dedicate to building the webb site as paying to get one done like this and then keeping it updated if you had to pay someone would have been expensive.
So i can add info and update info myself as needed and hopefully we will see the information grow over the years.
Its my intention to find another inthusiest to have access to the site so it can be continued going forward as none of us will be here for ever.
Model listing is very incomplete and any owners who feel they would like to write a model history for there model then please get in touch please it would be nice to have that complete.
Ideally someone who can spell better than i can and correct my mistakes as well.
Any links or info people want to share to add please get i touch its there for us all even myself as my memory is lousy (what did i have for lunch yearerday????)

It's great to see support for the early TVRs from both Neil and Andrew's businesses and I wish them both well. Early TVR parts availability and specialist support is a real concern for ownership/maintaining of early TVRs especially with the ending of some of the few specialist businesses over the last 10 years. Fortunately, TVR borrowed parts from many other makers otherwise we'd be in even more trouble now!

It only feels like yesterday when i bought my first TVR my 3000s and the obsession began, compared to many out there it is just yesterday. However many of those old school have been very helpful to myself and others over the years in sharing and guiding some who are no longer alive sadly and i hope they are not up there throwing arrows now.
And looking on the TVR forum this week on Face book and the argument between two people on there with great experience of the later cars reminds me of some of the ones on here in the past.
I see new owners to the marque especially over on the Face Book group and those who have inherited there Dads old car and suddenly taking an interest and it reminds me of when i first bought Lottie.
Going forward having on line information in a few places will be vital to the marques survival in the coming years especially as old posts on here either dont come up on searches as they used to be or the contributer has decided to delete them.
So the more information we can preserve and put in one place the better for all.
Over the years i have heard owners say how they could not have done there cars without the help of X or Y.
Then i go to a show see a beautiful car thats been restored beautifully and ask the owner did you use X or Y and they say they have never heard of them.
So it can be done but many buying classic cars today are like me when i bought my first havent a clue and face a steep learning curb. Some just want to find out enough to keep there cars going others want a project and want to try to do it all themselves.
Having access to resourses will certainly make that process easier and i understand some of the old school will say the internet is taking the fun out of restorations.
Well everyones idea of fun is different some love taking years to find a part searching car boots and auto jumbles and asking around and thats what makes it fun for them.
However we are in a different world today and the internet is invaluable and if used well can really make things easier.
Hopefully we will do that in time.
A bit like the ropes now in places on Everest, you will still enjoy the same view and be able to say you climbed Everest you will just have done it a bit easier than those first climbers that got to the top unaided.
