TVRCC Sprint & Hillclimb Challenge - Anyone ?

I'll be competing in the Vixen again next year - it'll be my third season and I've so enjoyed it,
However it looks as though there will only be few classic TVR's competing next year due to a number of the regular competitors having various upheavals and commitments. There will still be lots of Griffs & Chims and other various later models competing but it would be great to see a few more early cars.
In brief you can run anything from standard road going (a few safety mods required) to full race prep'd. You can enter as many or as few of the 20 ish events you wish to (I just do my local 5 or 6) and you can drive as fast as you feel comfortable. You will need race suit, helmet, gloves & a Non-race B Motorsport UK licence.

That's great, look forward to seeing you there.
Fyi there is an annual charity event at Prescott on May 10th where you get to drive the hill - min 2 runs but usually get 4-8. Fully marshalled but not timed and racewear not necessary. A number of us go each year as it's a great day anyway but very good for testing, setup and learning the hill. Cost is just £60 (all for charity) - PM me if you want a copy of the entry form.

The mod's I have had to do are:
Roll bar - must meet Motorsport UK regs. - Single hoop with diagonal brace. For tube size & fixing specs see Motorsport UK website
Seat & safety belt mountings had to either be bolted to chassis or use a 3" x 2" 3mm plate on underside of fibre glass to spread loads.
Drivers seat had to be changed to one that provided head support. You will need a race seat or a seat from another car that has a head rest.
Twin springs on throttle returns
Battery positive terminal had to have a plastic shield / cover
Front and rear tow hitch were required
Stickers to show position of tow hitch & ignition key off
Roundels for competition numbers
Fit a timing strut - a vertical piece of black plastic to break the timing beam on start & finish lines
That's pretty much what I've had to do. Obviously you may wish to do additional mods for improving handling etc. But competitors are handicapped on power to weight and tyre choice, which levels the playing field. Therefore there's little benefit to stripping out weight or increasing power or fitting a set of semi slick boots.
