Grantura door hinges
Discussion
Does anyone know if there are any specialists out there who do a rebuild service on the early type door hinges which were made by TVR? This is the design that preceeded TVR's use of the Ford hinge used in the Vixens etc. The ones on my car have a significant amount of play and would probably benefit from bushing or sleeving if anyone know's of such a service already. Thanks

Andrew yes those are the ones, although the arms of mine are made from round bar not square. Funilly enough that's also the bonnet of may car they're pictured on! Will contact Leigh, many thanks.
Its a small world when it comes to the early cars Nick Hope you get them sorted
Andrewe
Although these early model hinges can be bushed they pivot on a small threaded steel pin which is known to break at the threads. It may be that the threaded pins are broken. Both parts can be relatively easily sorted but it is a bespoke machining / fabrication job. The spares I have in stock are shaped and welded steel bar rather than tube It may be that yours are a later fabrication but I haven't seen enough of these cars stripped to know whether both systems may have been utilised.
You will no doubt see what the failure is when you remove the door from the car.
