Tuscan V6 DAO 666K
Discussion
The light metallic blue Tuscan V6 with the devilishly good reg DAO 666K is a very distinctive car. With chrome wires, wooden dash and that reg number it's hard to forget.
A quick Google suggests the car has been both automatic and manual at various points in its life. It has also lived in France and the UK.
I've recently acquired information that suggests it started off as a 2500 and was converted to a Tuscan V6 by the factory.
Is anyone able to confirm, deny or add any details to this please?
Chris

Not that it matters to me personally, however is it a Tuscan or 2500 as the chassis and also consequently the body are different. If someone thought they were purchasing a genuine Tuscan which is inherently more valuable then I suppose it would matter.
Different?Tuscan
2500

Not that much different then You are aware they didn't make all Tuscans with a Salisbury diff
In theory the 2500 should be the most expensive... It has a few more added tubes
Bye the way I am currently Turning a Griff 400 into a Vixen S1

and indeed with different interior details, like manual and I guess automatic (different stick etc) interiors.
also with Tuscan V6 on the rear and or with nothing on the rear :-)
also one with the engine etc, what picture would you like to see?
looks manual >
looks different, could be the automatic
with tuscan v6
without all

Nice thought however all the 2500 chassis I've seen are the same, it's just for the extra length of the Triumph lump.
Interesting, and a dipped crossmember under the engine mounts too - so a different chassis for each engine type...Edited by the other tim on Saturday 27th April 18:06
Wow..... memory lane for me, I worked for Caterham when they were up on the hill, and I still have vivid memories of Lotus 7's and Elans, and TVR Vixens and Tuscans arriving in 'kit' form.... avoided the dreaded purchase tax, New owner would purchase the kit and have it delivered to Caterham, who would put it together for them.... At that time, an 'affordable' sports car with a V6 was a thing of wonder to us common mortals... Would have been '69/'70......... I remember driving up to the Lotus factory in Norfolk (now a 5 minute drive for me) with the Caterham Land Rover and trailer to pick up a new 7 body chassis unit for a chum... Happy days indeed.....
