I did indeed. Do you have any info for me?
Cheers
Sorry, no, but I'm sure that someone will come along with some info/history.Cheers
I asked because I placed a blind bid via H & H as I was unable to attend the auction or the day before viewing day.
What is it like, what are your views and feelings about your purchase ?
What are your plans for it ?
Good luck.
Hi Benny
Did the Taimar come with much history? If not I can add a bit of info which comes courtesy of Oliver Edwards who is Pre-80s editor at the TVR Car Club.
Your car was owned for many years by Colin Parry who was TVRCC regional organiser for Herts and Beds. During the time he had the car it apparently had a body-off rebuild by Ian Bannister who is well known in TVRCC. It also appears that the original registration was LHG563X. After Colin Parry had the car it seems its owner/s were not members of the TVR Car Club and there is no recent history.
Hope this is of interest.
Peter

Cheers gents,
I took a bit of a punt, having not seen the car prior to the auction. She seems ok. A few minor electrical issues including voltage meter not working (but the alternator is producing 14+v), fuel gauge not working, tailgate solenoid not working, etc. Engine sounds nice a strong with good oil pressure.
The paint job leaves a lot to be desired. The top coat seems to have reacted with the layer beneath as it has micro bubbles all over.
Still, the above is not going to stop me getting out and about and enjoying that lovely V6 sound!
Cheers
P.S. my purchase came with a free copy of Elvis' 50 greatest hits, carefully stored under the driver's seat J

Colin was a very good friend of mine. He asked me to do a quicky rebuild as basically he was stuck without the taimar, his everyday car, it had done about 150k by this time.
Jon Lowey was going to do an article for Sprint on the rapid rebuild, but as, Colin so sadly passed away it didn't happen.
The re-assembly is worth a mention. Colin came up North to God's Country to assist me.
At 4pm on the Friday the bare chassis was on roof rack of my Astra Van. He drove the car back to Effluent South on the Sunday night !!!

It would be very fitting to do an article on that re-build as a tribute to Colin Ian Jon Lowey was going to do an article for Sprint on the rapid rebuild, but as, Colin so sadly passed away it didn't happen.
