Vixen on 16" rims?
Discussion
I guess with the lack of responses no body is running 16" rims on a Vixen.
So my next question is whether that's for a good reason - ie they don't work ???
My thinking is that going to 16" rims enables me to run a 55 profile tyre without affecting the gearing as the circumference is similar. Buying 55 profile tyres then opens up the choice of tyres to include tyres designed for more performance orientated cars rather than ones aimed at the SUV market. This should give a stiffer side wall and softer compound rubber giving more grip and better braking. Also the standard 'fin' rim does not have a safety bead which helps to keep the tyre on the rim under hard cornering. A new rim would have these so offer a safety benefit.
Any thoughts - agreeing or disagreeing !

You will ruin your cars day to day handling and over stress the antiquated suspension parts and wheel bearings etc. The car will be more susceptible to tram lining and the bump steer will become unbearable. They will look very pretty though... I have just took my 17 inch wheels and run flats of the Mini and put the 15 inch winters on with lovely 195 / 65 tyres... I had forgotten just how much I had destroyed the ride and handling for aesthetics. So my next question is whether that's for a good reason - ie they don't work ???

I haven't run 16" on my Vixen, but I have run 6, 7 and 8" wide 15 inch rims. At the moment I am running 7x15" Aston Martin fitment rims from MWSInt with 195/65/15 tires allround.
Good size, cheaply available and fill the arch... 7j should squeeze under std arches if you are careful with the measuring N
