So we just stumbled upon this little beauty.

Appears to be a TVR Pace Car leading the 1965 Bridgehampton Race. I'm assuming it's a Griffith due to the track being in New York but it's rather blurry to tell.

Looks like a Griff, the lights are working when he peels off into the pits so I did question it, looked again and yep biggrin

The speed of them there race cars back then,,,, that’s proper that is, nasty sand banks and little run off, brave men and women indeed.

Some interesting British cars there amongst the yank tanks.

I'm guessing but it is probably Gerry Sagerman, shame the Griffith wasn't entered.

That was my first thought, it was most likely Mark Donahue as he would have been racing at that time.

I think Mark had moved on to better things by 65 racing his Mustang in SCCA.

You may be correct, I wonder if the Bridgehampton programme says who is driving the Griffith. As far as I know Mark didn't race a Griffith but did compete in Jack Griffith's Cobra.

Good picture of the Griffith as the start, it looks like it is a 400. https://library.revsinstitute.org/digital/custom/s...
