1600M at auction
Discussion
I was at SWVA in Poole yesterday for the classic auction. Mostly the usual tatty Mercs / Jags etc going for too much (IMHO) but one stood out, a 1600M:

One of the photos is obviously wrong (Jaguar V8 engine bay)
With 8% buyers premium + VAT, that's £9864!
Close, up, there were rattle can patches on the bonnet and plenty of star cracks, ii it needed a respray. Photos always seem to flatter cars but I wondered if it was internet bidder who hadn't see it close up.
I hadn't realised how desirable they had become; Practical Classics value them at £15k in very good condition, perhaps more from a dealer. And slightly more so than a 2500M.Perhaps rarer? DVLA data doesn't have the 'M' cars as separate models, just registered as 'TVR.'
