I don’t think I’ve seen any M-series car advertised for more than $50,000, before.

Seems a lot of money. For that i would want new galvanised Chassis, LSD, rebuilt Engine, a very good job done on the 5 speed gearbox. Complet respray back from bare GRP etc. + Turbo SE

I seem to recall a very nicely rebuilt 3000S Turbo SE convertible (don't think original turbo) for sale in Germany a few years ago for £35k ish. It was on the market for a long, long time.
I owned a 3000S (Turbo'd) for 6 years back in the 90's. It was very very pretty but the side screens made it hard to live with as they are not easy to use and difficult to store if you have any luggage in the boot. More of an occaisional sunny sunday afternoon car. Or am I just not hard core enough

I can understand what you are saying about the Sidescreens BUT they're one of it's quirks and daring to be different.
On my 3000S i have changed the Runners and they still don't slide nicely.
I'm determined to get them to slide nicely.
Many years ago when i had a 1964 1071cc Austin Cooper S they always slide nicely.
I must fix the sliding problem
