Sorry my mistake it is a G reg but according to the guy who's advert it is it's a 1969 and he reckons they did fit a few cars with fiat rear lights, I wonder what engine it's running a ford or is it a b seires BMC unit, couldn't see any mention of engine on advert , unless I've missed it .? I also noticed the one peice rain chanel
Different on my S2 which is also a 1969

Fiat square rear lights? Really? I had never heard of that any more info?
I think that was somebody attempting a period mod back in the 70s, along with the reversing lights. Easy to sort out and looks like a cracking project to me. Andrew
IMHO the square lights look OK, although no where near as pretty as the ban the bomb units. But as said, if they are original well.....
I'd defo lose those reversing lights and fit the correct black tin square number plate. That alone would improve the rear end appearance no end.

There where a few made with those lights either as a design experiment or because of a supply issue does not work IMOP but new owner can decide to keep them for history sake or fit the usual ones but a great opportunity.

Every days a school day Andrew,! Where did you get hold of that information? Andrew
I am hoping to go and see Duncan next weekend to pick up some stuff he has for me. He said I could have look at the car if it’s still around, just so I can get some more S1 pictures for my rebuild jigsaw puzzle!
There’s an immaculate S4 Vixen on eBay now at a reasonable buy it now....

Looks like it has a dodgy bonnet shut on the passenger side, and the sunroof has (outside stored ?) bird poo/mould marks.
The bonnet is open in one photo, perfect fit when closed in another. The sunroof looks excellent to me but cloth-ey rather than smooth vinyl so a replacement Andrew Gray said:

When you say a few were made with those lights, do you know how many? Nothing would surprise me about the parts used in old TVRs. It's not as if this car is one of the very last one or two S1s made, where you might expect the odd "upgrade" over earlier cars but there were at least a dozen S1s made after this car and I presume most before and after had the Mk 1 cortina lights. A little bit odd to change the appearance and styling of a car only to go back to the lights fitted to the early model? Would love to see a photo of another with those lights fitted. Andrew
