Griffith 200 FIA spec info request
Discussion
Hi, a friend of mine is modelling a Griffith 200 GT car for Assetto Corsa which is a modern racing simulator. He is making the mod for free and it will be released for free, it is third party content that the game creators are not affiliated with, just some guys with a passion for historic race cars who are doing this in their spare time We would like to replicate this piece of history as faithfully as possible so I'm trying to help by gathering as much information as I can about the car. Here is a picture of the 3D model (still a work in progress)
As far as suspension is concerned if you put correct info into the software you get correct results. So far I have the homologation form linked below and various snippets of info from around the net including power and torque curves for the SE version. The main thing that is lacking at the moment is information about the suspension. From looking at pictures I gather the car has double wishbone suspension front and rear and the images of the suspension from the homologation paper look similar to the stock car. I think I read that some of the suspension components are from a Triumph Herald and that they replaced the springs and dampers with some aftermarket Koni stuff for the race cars?
I was wondering if anyone has any technical information about the Griffith suspension and ideally any info specific to the FIA spec race Griffith's as they were or as they are now? Close up pictures can be used to guesstimate things but ideally we want lengths and attachment point distances so the physics guy can figure the maths out. Info about the modern equivalent that is used today would be much better than nothing as it seems there are some owners of Griffiths running in historic events on here and that info would be the next best thing to period correct data.
Something else that can be very useful is driver comments and any information about handling characteristics so unknown values and setup can be tweaked to replicate this in the game.
Any information, links, pictures or perhaps people to contact that might help with any of the above would be very much appreciated!
About the only thing we might be able to offer in return is maybe to replicate an owners livery in the game (we can't magic in the manx tail though ) If we get enough information to release the car it will be available to download and use for free for anyone with a copy of the game.
