Hi, I'm currently rebuilding my 1972 M series and I'm upgrading the diff to a Salisbury unit. I have the diff but now need the mounting frame.

Does anybody have any ideas where I could source one?

Any help most gratefully received!

Is it for road use only Tim?

Hi, yes just for road use, I have an open 3.31 diff from an XJ6

Thanks, I've spoke to Adrian and get the impression he has a big backlog of work and I may be in for a long wait. Just wondered if there were any other options as my project is now stalled!

I fabricated one Tim. Not very good photos, but if you look through the bits and bats, you’ll see brackets that run back to front, they pick up on the two tapped holes either side of the diff. They help to spread the load. It’s a race car and part of the reason to the-design was to prevent the diff cocking it’s nose under hard acceleration retardation. Overkill for a roar car? Maybe not if you’re starting with nothing..

Have you tried David Gerald / Mike Luck.

They definitely used to have the jigs, I made 5 sets for them on the jigs and also made a new jig for a bit that was missing, however that was about 1986.

I also still have my hand drawn sketches somewhere.

That tubular fabricated one looks lovely, actually looks more factory than the factory one if you know what I mean... in fact the whole chassis looks really nicely put together! Very impressive!

Adrian has been back in touch and hopefully can sort something in a reasonable timescale, otherwise I will try David Gerald or attempt to copy that tubular version.

Thanks for all the suggestions, mounting the diff is just the start of it all, I've got a Tremec T5 and a 302V8 to work out too...

I'm just completing same Tim. If you want to have look, I'm not too far away. Not saying we've done everything correctly, but it may give you some idea's?

That looks fantastic! Yes I would really like to have a look if you wouldn't mind, I'm currently working off a collection of photos I've seen on here and sites in the States.

I'll drop you a PM and hopefully we can arrange something.
