Grantura.Any double glazing salesmen here?
Discussion
Not a major issue but would appreciate opinions.I,ve spent more weeks than I would like to admit sorting and fitting doors & windows during the restoration. The near side window is laminate glass and is a good fit,the drivers side is toughened glass and is just the wrong profile to fit the door frame ( not far out but because not correct profile will not wind up to maximum)
Can easily get a laminate replacement but curious, thought that the original would have been toughened.Any ideas
Thanks

The first thing i would do is look at the date on the glass.
There should be a very small dot next to one of the letters in the word "toughened" or a very small dot next to one of the letters in "laminated". That will give you the year the glass was made and also if it has been changed in the past.
e.g. if a dot is next to the letter "T" it was made in 1971 or if dot next to letter"U" 1973 etc.
For a Grantura i think a dot next to letter "T" will be 1961 or something like that.
