On my 3000m race car the bonnet does not fully open, considering attaching with 4 hood pins, 2 at rear currently, adding 2 at the front near radiator so the whole thing just lifts off, it does not alter the profile of the vehicle so cant see why there would be any objections?

Something like this:

You can get quick release hinge pins for the M series (Adrian does them).

So you can retain the hinge access for quick checks or take the whole front off for more access when required.

There won't be any issue with regs then.

Thanks John, will give Adrian a call. Do you think the 4 pin solution would cause problems with regs?

Not sure, but can't see why they would, the Gem has that type of clip on the front bonnet.

I just thought making the standard hinge quick release would be more versatile, I have them on my M and it's very useful with a plug on the electrics also.
