I've recently acquired a 3.0 Essex engine with overdrive but it only has a two-bladed rad fan on it, I just wondered if anyone has a spare four-bladed or more fan I could acquire for beer tokens preferably non viscous. Otherwise I suppose I'll have to find an electric fan.

Cheers, Al.

I'd go electric personally but if you do want to stick with engine driven i'd look at plastic multi blade scratchchin

just the little matter of finding the correct bolt PCD. maybe (or maybe not) this one............ clicky

On my 3000M there's a plastic fan on the motor to keep a nice air flow + 2 electric fans at the front of the rad.
No overheating problems or hot starting problems.
I will add a plastic fan on my 3000S direct on motor because there have been vapourlock problems in the past

That's the one I fitted when I shattered my old one by dropping a spanner on it while the engine was running frown

I wondered where the expression came from "to drop a spanner in the works"

Not done that but did leave a ratchet and socket on the crank pulley bolt once after adjusting the tappets....... made a bit of a mess when I started the engine!!!

Thanks very much for the info, so any pinto fan should just bolt straight on then? Seen some new in packaging but blue which would look good aestetically too.

Cheers, Al.

I only picked that link as an example, can't confirm if Pinto fan fits but does seem to be what Nigel is suggesting?

It also says in the description Cortina and Escort so I tried the one off my Vixen, which I know is off an Escort, on my 3000S and it fitted perfectly so I ordered it and it also fitted perfectly. The diameter of the outside of the blades was very slightly smaller than the one I broke but it's been on for over a year now with no problems.

Chimera radiator fitted to our Ms with twin electric fans behind the rad. Works well on the V6.

Off topic, where did you get the exhaust manifolds made? they look like properly designed to extract some extra horses.

They came from Tony Law in North Yorkshire.
