Gents,

Wanted to replace the front and rear brake hoses on my Vixen and read somewhere that they're the same as TR6 front hoses. So I ordered up four TR6 front hoses and lo and behold, they're too short. The hoses on my car are all about 16" long. Can anyone shed some light on what are the correct bits?

Something like these? or did you want to stick with rubber hoses .

I guess a phone call to young Mr Venn would be the sure way of getting the right thing scratchchin

I definitely wouldn't mind using those but before I fork over 80 quid it would be good to see some dimensions on those hoses. As you suggest, I will put in a word to Adrian.

As an aside, I'm fine with rubber flex hoses too so if anyone knows what car they cross to, please do let me know.

I have a 71 Vixen 2500 and I assume that its the same kit. On my car however I think the front calipers were changed out for the metric versions. Is there an adapter to convert the end fittings? What's the best way to deal with this?

would I just need 2 of these if I did have Metric Calipers?
looks like this converts the UNF to Metric.

Thoughts?

As far as i know look at what's the cast in n° on calipers.
I think 16P is imperial and 16PB metric. Be careful because one can screw into the other but the thread is very loose so you could think it is the good thread

If you have a Brake pipe Flaring tool and selection of Imperial and Metric nuts you can make one in a few minutes. I always use a roll of Kunifer (copper and nickel) for Brake Pipes. Very easy to make
