Have had a look at many TR6 manuals and schematics about the "J-Type" overdrive unit but all look different to what's fitted to my car (Solenoid mounted horizontally as opposed to vertically on my car). Apparently the "J-Type" was fitted to 2500M's but I don't know from what year onwards.

Any input much appreciated, need to get the thing working again, very intermittent.

Cheers, Finn

You may have an A type fitted... Tr6's had a and J types so you may have the A type.

Ah yes that does seem to be the one !! Even better, I now should have OD in 2, 3 and 4.

Cheers for the link. Finn

Not just TR6, some of the later saloons had them too, only on 3 & 4.

The selector switches are on the top of the selector casting, so not related to OD type...check out Rimmers web site for the excellent diagrams !
