TVR VIxen S2 LEV745J
Discussion
I think it currently belongs to a lady in East Anglia, sorry I have no contact details and can't remember her name but don't think she comes on here very often. Sure someone will know if this is still correct. Only time I have seen the car was a the TVRCC event at The Shuttleworth Collection in July 2015.

Hi Julie,
I've posted a photo of the cover of the Vixen's original Owner's Manual - well-thumbed but fully intact and showing the supplying Main Dealer as Barnet Motor Company (quite well-known in their day). If you'd like me to copy the manual for you, let me know,
Tim
It would be nice to gift it to Julie if it was the one that came with the car they do come up fairly regularly but in far better condition I've posted a photo of the cover of the Vixen's original Owner's Manual - well-thumbed but fully intact and showing the supplying Main Dealer as Barnet Motor Company (quite well-known in their day). If you'd like me to copy the manual for you, let me know,

Hi Julie,
Sorry we've not managed to get into email contact, but if you do ever want to follow up what I know of the Vixen's background, please do get in touch. Briefly, my interest in the car dates back to 1979 when it was bought by my father. It was his first sports car since about 1960 and he got a huge amount of pleasure from it. We had many happy times with it, often with my mother, who was quite small, perched behind the front seats (health and safety being a bit less stringent back then!) Unfortunately, circumstances led to us parting with the Vixen in about 1984/85 when it passed to a builder friend of mine, a keen TVR enthusiast who was in fact regional organiser of the TVR Car Club . The last time I saw it was in the late 1980s when it was in his garage, having been fully restored and re-sprayed and looking really superb. I've often wondered over the years what happened to it, which is why I was so pleased to discover that it's still on the road. My parents both passed on a few years ago and, although I've had my own TVR for 37 years now, my memories of the Vixen are very special.

Hi Tim, sorry still no luck with email. It was a kind offer from you but I have a copy of the manual and managed to get a good quality original off flea bay.
Some info I would be grateful for, if you have it, do you know the name of the colour? Was it a genuine TVR colour? Also do you know of any modifications done to the engine ie the head or the cam shaft?
Thanks in anticipation
Julie

Hi Julie,
Sorry about the email problem - I've updated my profile again so if you try it again, it should work.
As for the manual, I'm glad you've managed to get hold of one. If you want, I can send you a copy of page 1 which gives a few specifics about LEV745J, i.e. the chassis number, engine number, ignition switch and door key numbers, and supplying main dealer.
Unfortunately, the manual doesn't specify the Vixen's original colour, but I'm confident that when my Dad owned it, the paintwork was original as the car was relatively young and hadn't done many miles (I have an old MOT certificate from June 1982 which shows the mileage as just 18,359).. The colour at that time was pale metallic blue. However, when the car was rebuilt by the builder friend I mentioned in my earlier post, it was re-sprayed in a shade of metallic blue which was slightly darker than the original. Judging from the current photos of the Vixen, it's still wearing that colour today.
As far as the engine is concerned, it was replaced in the mid-1980s at a Ford engine specialist in Grays, Essex, called Specialised Engines (they're still in business today). I remember it well as, after driving down from Knutsford, my Dad and I spent the night sleeping in the car so that work could start on it early the following morning! We then drove it back later that day. The engine that was fitted was more or less standard - there were definitely no significant modifications.
