General rear up right questions
Discussion
I need two new bushes as seen in pic so ideas on those please. Poly ones I thought.
Also, looks like the up right has been welded, does that mean it's no good? I do want to do a good job on restoring the whole rear end, other than the diff at the moment. I know these alloy things can be pretty expensive.
Kind regards,
Stevo.

I must be lucky then, think they were repaired back in the early 80,s.
Any recommendations on the bushes for them?
Thanks again.
Looking at the pics it seems to be a repair from the oldest failure in the book…Corroded pivot shaft cracking base of upright……or Cotter pin IE the well meaning mechanic that has tried to hammer the cotter pins out. Either that or is was a previous stub axle failure and wheel loss which ends up with the bottom of the upright scraping the ground. What is more concerning to me is what appears to be a fatigue crack which appears to be extending from the left hand cotter pin hole up the side and across to the cast hole in the upright… It used to be common place when replacements weren't available to mill off the bottoms and weld new tubes in for the pin or even layer weld and re-machine…In my view if that repair was done so long ago then I would look for a new pair! Any recommendations on the bushes for them?
Thanks again.
New std uprights can be bought from Adrian I think and David Geralds (Mike Luck) and also Nigel Ruben.
Bushes can be had from Adrian.
I am glad to see you have been lucky but I wouldn't want to see your luck run out!
Uprights are not mega cheap but they are small beer compared to a lost rear wheel and upright at speed!!
Bye the way…Where is your other cotter pin??
