I wonder if there is an easy way to remove the sliding Weathershield to inspect what's left of the metal underneath. When i touch the vinyl i can feel particles underneath. I would like to dismantle it and not destroy too much. For sure i will need to make some parts but it's nice to have old parts as a pattern.
thanks Alan

Turn the front bar cockeyed, in the track, until one side is free of the track; lift. Remove the four bolts, at the back, and pull the rear bar up. Done.

Best regards,
Bernard.

Alan, as Bernard says to remove. However to investigate the particles you will want to remove the vinyl from the metal bar. IIRC that's more difficult as the vinyl is heat bonded. There are some specialists out there who can rebuild but at a price.

I'd speak with Adrian@ as I know he was rebuilding one last week.

Good luck
