Hi All, I have recently purchased a Taimar. The tyres on the car are 195/70/14 Fulda's Although they look in very good condition I have found the receipt for them in the service history. They were fitted in 1983!!!. The tyres although not perished are now very hard and not overly rubber-like anymore. Obviously these need to be replaced now but therein lies my problem. What tyres do I go for? I have looked at Vredstien Sprint Classic - these look very nice but are rather pricey at £140ish a corner. Although I don't doubt they'd be great my pockets aren't that deep at the moment as there are some other mods I'd like to do with the car so I was looking for something more mid price range. I'd like to keep the classic look if poss but realise that may not be an option with a more modern tyre. I've been trawling black-circles.com but am very undecided what to order up. Any help or recommendations would be gratefully received.

Try Camskill but very little choice if you want H or V speed rating.

Depends - if your car for summer, fair weather use only? The Vred... Classic Sprints are a good choice and many people recommend them; they are a classic pattern and so won't have grooves for water displacement - but I've not done a back to back

I use my (albeit) Vixen in all seasons (ex-heavy salt in winter) and I just switched to Uniroyal Rain Expert 3 that I used BlackCircles to buy and fit. Great tyre, lots of grip, confident in the rain. Modern tread pattern and good feedback. Max height is 65 profile sadly.

Thanks very much for your valuable advice. I went for a set of Sportstrac 5s from Cam skill - Under £50 each inc delivery which I thought was great price. Thanks again smile

Went in yesterday for a set of new Sportracs as Dollyman recommended - tyres felt great on the trip back from the fitters
