Could any one let me know who owns the 4 1800se MKV1 Grantura's. I have tried to locate these 4 cars. I have a MK1V 1800se 1967. I have owned this car since 1970 and fully restored.

Try the Grantura register you may find some leads although I'm not sure how up to date it is.

I have owned this car since June 1970, It has had 1 pervious owner. The car is in excellent condition, it has been fully restored to original condition. You will find the information on this car in the appendices of the Peter Filby book “Successe Against The Odds”.
The difference between the MK1V1800S and the MK1800SE.
The SE has Close ratio gearbox, oil cooler, laminated windscreen, brake servo, heater de-mister unit, two speed wipers, electric screen washers, performance equipment, Laminated Sundym glass rear screen, wire wheels 5Kx15in spoke wire wheels, rear screen extractor vents, Powered by a Westlake high performance engine, equipped with a single 45 DCOE Weber carb. This engine produced 115b.h.p. at 6000rpm.

I purchased this car from the Barnet Motor Co, owned by Martin Lilley. Sales man Gerry Marshall

That's very interesting.

It suggests TVR had its eye on laminated rear screens early on. As far as I know the 1800S, Vixen S1 and maybe early S2s had plastic rear screens as standard.

My S1 came with 41/2 J wires
Single speed DR3a wipers
MGB Heater

according to the build sheet.

I think Glass rear screens were std before the days of Lexan sheet.
A lot of the early cars I have owned have all had glass rear screens. Toughened though not laminated.

I had LVX1686/4 which was 50 from the end of Vixen S2 production and that had a tinted plastic rear screen and judging by the state of it it was original.

Must admit I had forgotten about the 1800S MKIV SE.

My car appears to have had a plastic rear screen from new, although not easy to be sure given something like 14 previous owners! So perhaps it was a factory option until early series two.

People seem to forget that Glass is old tech and plastics are relatively new..Pretty sure that most v early TVR's were glass originally..Granturas for example didn't have plastic screens they were glass..I think Plastic screens started to come in with S2 vixens…but the majority of cars through my hands have started out with glass screens.
