Taimar V6 hot starting problem
Discussion
Hi I seem to have a problem restarting the car when hot. The battery spins the starter over nice and quick when cold, but when the car has been run for a few miles and has reached temperature the starter turns the engine over very slowly. It's almost as if the car has a flat battery and struggles to turn over. Sometimes it will all of a sudden spin into life, other times I just have to wait for it to cool and then it restarts fine.
Any advice or work-arounds would be gratefully received - many thanks in advance

You might want to have a look at the cables of the starter motor, their routing (maybe a heat-shield for the ones running close to the manifold) and check the condition (replace if in doubt or not OK) and tightness of all of them. The earth running from the engine back to the battery should be sound ( and direct, as in not via the chassis)

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think it's heat on the wiring to the starter as opposed to heat creating a vapour lock because my starter motor turns over ever so slowly when engine is very hot. Almost as though it is a flat battery. Will investigate wiring near manifolds and check their connections. I have already replaced the main earth strap which has an earring point on the chassis as well as the bell housing. Thanks for the advice, I think a heat shield is in order
