Supercharged Crossflow - 252bhp !
Discussion
I stumbled across this Westfield on the WSCC Northants site.
"These pictures are of Horace Marks' early SeiW which started it's life with a "standard" 135bhp 1700cc X/Flow and after numerous changes and engine rebuilds the original block and head is now fitted with an M60 Eaton supercharger sucking through a 2" SU carb. and blowing at a pressure of 10lbsf. It has forged Omega pistons and on a rolling road session last year recorded 252bhp @ 5100rpm and 280ftlbs of torque @ 2800rpm. It has since been slightly detuned with a thicker de-compression plate. It has Toyo R888 tyres and has been surprisingly reliable since the fitting of the 2" carb."
I'm sure it'd be a challenge to fit into a Vixen but would this be a nice way to get Tuscan V8 power and torque without the V8 weight and therefore losing the Vixen's balance, whilst retaining original / period engine?
