LOL well tested so no worries on that score just need to keep an eye on those driving my 3000s and Vixen as i am in the Tuscan so should be fun along with another Tuscan V6 and a S3 Vixen i am sure you will be bored with the pictures when we get back An M and a Taimar flying the pre-80s flag. 24hrs is not my cup of tea but i know many love it.

My point exactly Al I have heard some of your stories and even at 25 it was not my cup of tea and at 50 plus it certainly is not 
.When you don't really drink and you have a passion for old cars history and Nostalgia then the classic is certainly the place for that.
We are all different and my idea of hell is with a group of Lads tanked up doing silly things and trying to pretend they are funny when your sober and really just want to soak up the atmosphere.
Thankfully the Classic is very different to the 24hr and we have a great bunch of Guys on the Trip some from far and some locally.

The 24 is what you make it. Our party of 7 (4 guys, 3 girls) drank no alcohol during the race. We enjoyed seeing the classics at St Saturnin on the drive down. Bimbled into the circuit on Saturday from our Gite an hour South of Le Mans. Were glad of the grandstand during the downpours at the start. Enjoyed a pleasant evening meal in Arnage and then watching the cars at Arnage/Indy corners into the night before snoozing in the cars. Breakfast from our support vehicle, more race watching then a second breakfast in Arnage before heading back to watch the last hours of the race from the Esses grandstand. The most stressful part was the last 2 minutes - gutted for Toyota.
Ironically, I find the sense of history and nostalgia far greater at the 24. Love the cars at the classic but it only exists because of the history of the 24. Sadly the migration to the classic has eroded that a bit as you see far fewer old cars now.
I enjoyed the early classics (think I've down 3-4 of them including the first) but now find it a bit over crowded and the short races don't have the attraction for me. Almost a side show.
Oh, we then stayed for the rest of the week and visited a fine classic car collection at Valencay amongst other things.
I agree there is some very laddish behaviour, some of it that spoils a fantastic event - I'm thinking muppets with water pistols etc. in Arnage etc. I didn't see any of that this year so maybe the yobs were busy at the football
We're all different - but I don't want people to think the 24 is all about booze and stupidity - that's optional!

Much how we have the Classic booked we have a Geet about half an hour south and also a Chataue where we have the main base and the welcome Buffet on the Thursday Night and the Farewell Barbaque on the Sunday Night.
We then have a Drive on the Friday Morning finishing at the Hotel de France, La Chartre sur le Loir where the GT40s based themselves 40 years ago when they won the 24hr and a celibration of the GT40s and Dinner there.
Then on to the track.
We have two different grandstands booked and will rotate the passes around so we all get to use each Dunlop and Pit lane.
Then the Saturday night we have a Dinner at the Hotel Auberge des Hunaudieres on the Mulsanne Straight where we can watch the racing saturady evening.
Very much a relaxed trip with no soggy sleeping bags or smelly toilets LOL must be getting old as i used to love roughing it in a tent.
And you are spot on the history of the track is all about the 24hr however i like to think of the Classic as the after party that gets repeated evey two years rather than the actual event and with my attention span being what it is short races does it for me as for Toyota i watched it on the TV and yes totally gutting for them.
Life is so often like that but they will be back i am sure
