I'm on a quest to track down an 'Old Flame' a TVR Vixen 2500. A lot of hours/blood/sweat/money and tears (tears mainly from my better half I have to say) went on the car which delayed the saving for our first home, but I won't go down that road today ! Moving on ...

To cut a long story short, for our 25th Anniversary I tried to find the TVR when we first started 'courting'. Now it's approaching the 30th anniversary (no dont reach for that JD) and I am still looking for it.

As a surprise, I thought of trying to track down the car to see what has happened to it and hope it hasn't gone to the TVR in the sky ! Or even the slight possibility to buy it back. I have photo's. The last bit of info I found out was it was last on the road in 1992 in Bristol and he was white.

If you know to which direction to point me towards in trying to find this special piece of our history I would really appreciate your assistance as i haven't the foggiest to where to go from here.

Thank you for taking time in reading this.

Matt

Your first port of call would be the TVR Car Club, if the owner is a member they may be able to pass on an email. I believe you can request current keeper details from the DVLA, but you need to have a good reason - not investigated this so have a quick google.

Best of luck

Yes, as above. I think the club won't give you the current owners details, but will contact them with your details to see if they are interested in making contact.

Or you could just post an old photo on here to see if anyone knows the car, some of us have been around old TVRs for longer than we care to remember...

you could also poke around here http://tvr.at/register2.html to see if you can see the car listed.

Hi Matt

Thank you for your post.

I spoke to the DVLA and the guy told me that if it is for personal reasons they would not give information out. So I thought it was not worth completing the V888 form. But I'll have a google to see how people have got over this hurdle in the past.

Once again
Thank you

Hi Oliver

I spoke to the TVR Club and with their great assistance they are the ones who found out it was last registered in Bristol and it is white now.
The picture I have is when it was first bought it. It is a bit grainy the photo - no digital cameras then!

Thank you for looking at my post.

Hmm... Untaxed since May 1992 so my money would be on gone now I'm afraid.

I feared this was the case, as one last attempt I will email the TVR owners abroad.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Totally agree my car was in shopping basket and boxes for 18 years before I built it back up a couple of years ago.

Remember the scrap men don't like them to much plastic and not enough steel hence unless a total write off probably stored away somewhere it amazes me how every year lost cars appear out of the woodwork don't gibe up looking there will be a trail try and find a previous owner and work from there
