TVR Identification
Discussion
Hi, even after being a TVR(S) owner for nearly 20 years I am still astonished by the information that the community have about this mark.
So, for the first time I would like to request some help. On a whim I bought what is basically a collection of parts a few years ago with idea of building it into a race car to replace my Vixen which I currently use in the TVR SpeedChampionship, the increasing value is making me nervous!
But after finishing the Vixen and now the M, I am wondering what exactly I have siting around waiting for some attention. I was told that someone had butchered the frame and to honest that is a fair assessment and to date no identifying marks have been found. So I am wondering if anyone can help identify what exactly I have, is it a Grantura or a Vixen S1? There is no paperwork, all I have is the parts, the bonnet does not belong to the car, only the frame body and a few interior bits.
The questions in my head, are:
Which TVR is it?
What is the chance of making it back into a car and it is worth the effort?
Is there a way to get age related plates/V5 for something with no paperwork and no identify marks?

You have a partially blank canvas, paint which picture you desire, Grantura, or Vixen. Without proper ID on the frame, or the ability to narrow it down, it's pedigree will always be a Heinz 57, so you might as well make something fun, something you want to enjoy. You have the basis for very nice 1800S/Griffith. I wish I had the garage space to take on such a project. Griffith 400 carbon copy coming up. A fun car.

The previous/previous owner was trying to make a tasmin 200 chassis fit under the bodyshell but failed and ruined the tasmin chassis in the process , this did not go with the parts to SkullCollector.
Cheers.
Thats good news. Not the best chassis tvr made and a pinto!Cheers.
Pete
Ps I have a Full Tony Law exhaust and manifold for a Vixen with a Pinto
