Looking for a special TVR 3000S Turbo
Discussion
Good Evening,
my name is Jasper and i am from Germany. I am looking for a special TVR. I don't want to buy it just would really like to see it.
I am looking for the first of 13th 3000s Turbo. Nearly 20 years ago my dad owned this car and my first car moment memory is that car. I had always a passion for cars and that all started with this 3000s Turbo. Last summer i was in Zolder with a little hope to see that car, but sadly i had no luck.
I would really want to see this Car once again. I know that John Simpson owned this car very long and sold it few years ago. Currently i study in Ireland for 4 month and would be happy if someone knows who the current owner of the car is.
best regards
Jasper

Hi
I am the current owner of what was your Dads 3000S turbo, the first genuine Turbo S of the thirteen original factory built cars, I have had the car for close to three years and have known the car well since it returned to the UK after being sold to Simon by your father, Simon then sold it after a few years of ownership to John Simpson, who as you know, owned it twice as he had sold it to your Dad in the first place.
All previous owners have cared for the car and it still looks very good and much the same as in your Dads ownership, its had some mechanical work over the years but nothing that has changed its integrity. I have a reasonable amount of documentation in regard to history certainly some German papers I guess pertaining to TUV and test documentation but no photos of its time in Germany....I would love any images or copies of images you might be able get that show the car wearing German registration plates etc
I live South of Manchester if your ever over here your welcome to look at the car.
Regards
Bernie

Hi Bernie
nice to hear that the car is in good hands! We have a lot of pictures of the car with German numberplates and some documents about the car himself. I will ask my dad if he can send it to me. I would really like to come to Manchester after my time in Ireland. i will stay in ireland until 16th-18th of April. If it possible i would really like to come at my way back at home to see the car if that is okay for you. I drove with my car to ireland because of that i am kind of flexible in time.
Ian thank you very much for the fast respond!

Hi Jasper Good to hear from you!
Breakdowns! Once .....Unfortunately it has once for me! dammed electrics and it stopped me taking it to Zolder two years ago I ended up riding shotgun in another 3000s.....that coincidently had been rebuilt by my friend Ian Bannister who as you may know restored the Turbo not to many years before your Dad bought the car.
Regarding you returning from Ireland ( Dublin - Liverpool? or Dublin- Holyhead?) either way as long as we are home at that that time your passing us relatively closely if your going home via Hull or slight detour if you are going via the English South coast your welcome to call and see the car.
By the way where are you based in Ireland?
Regards
Bernie

i am living in Dublin right now. I will take the ship from Dublin to Liverpool. After that i will drive down to Dover, that's the plan so far. Before i book the ship i would write you an email, so we can see if you have time or not.
This year i will try to go to Zolder again. It was a very nice event last year. Maybe we will see us there

I recall as a lad one of status quo rocking up in a Turbo in the 70,s. I use to live near Alan Lancaster, who had a white E Type, it could have been him but I'm not sure. Anyone know if one of these rare cars first owners was from SQ? I Can't recall if it was white or gold, definitely had Turbo slapped down the side and wasn't a 911. It wasn't an S so must have been an M or Taimar?

Glad you found the car Jasper. I hope it brings back happy memories.
We'll be at Zolder this year, probably in a red Tamora registration YHO 51.
Need to say hello.
Nice to hear! I will come with my father again. I try to convince him for a while that he has to buy a TVR again but sadly i had no luck so far. We'll be at Zolder this year, probably in a red Tamora registration YHO 51.
