A nice surprise
Discussion
A PM via pistonheads popped into my mailbox today and what a nice surprise. Barry, the second owner of my 69 Vixen who owned the car from 1980 until 2007 had got in touch!
Now that my restoration has been completed I was thinking that it was high time that I did a little digging to try and find out a bit more about my Vixen's early years. All I had was a handful of garage bills from Willwood Tune in Stockport from the late 1970s. At least these receipts had the recorded mileage, which had always led me to believe that my recorded 55,000 miles was correct.
Even better was the fact that Barry sent me these photos, one from around 1980 when the car was bombing around the lanes of Cheshire.
and a later shot showing the car in familiar classic TVR guise! If you are reading this then thanks again Barry.

I assume you've already applied to the DVLA and got the history they hold?
I was fascinated by mine, I received photocopies of the pages from the original green log book, My car was first owned by someone in Sheffield...
Must have been great to hear from a previous owner... ATE399J anyone?

some good eagle eye observations of my old TVR. It even had a Tandy radio/cassette in the dash. Thought someone may clock the hearse in the back ground. Not an omen but a converted Austin A?? that belonged to my Dads chum who was in charge of maintaining a fleet of limos at Box Brothers funeral directors in Blackpool. Always made me giggle. I think he welded the outriggers on the TVR but apart from that he was quite a good mechanic.
