Hello
I have a pair of 8 inch pull fans fitted to 3000m with low rad.
Works perfectly. Keeps me cool even in summer.
However. When they kick in I go into "off charge" , if I also have my lights on, I need to watch my revs to stop a stall. Putting on heater fan means I have to ride the loud pedal to keep things going.
I have a 50amp alternator.
Thought that would stop me losing spark due to electrical load.

I gave heard that spal fans have lower draw.so that may help
What can I do, other than drive in the cold and dark)?

This does seem very odd. Do you have an ignition light and does it come on when the fans cut in? Surely if you drop into discharge the battery should provide for any shortfall in power from the alternator. I would have thought 50amps was more than adequate. Does the car start alright? Do you ever suffer from a flat battery? I think you need to start by understanding what's going on with your charge /power circuits. If possible you could try swapping to another alternator and check connections to alternator and battery.

Good luck!

I suspect this is a wiring problem rather than a hardware problem. How are the fans wired? Where do they take their feed from? Do the fans run through a relay? Do the fans switch of when you turn of the ignition off.

The ignition light does not come on before the stall.
The alternator is new

The fans are not on a relay

The stall only occurs under "load" from the electrical items
It is happy to idle without them

Battery may be the problem. It has been flat twice before I got a trickle charger.
It is on a ctek conditioner now for over 6 months and it says the battery is fine...

No problem starting hot or cold

I will check voltage tonight. It has been off charge now for two days.
Will also check voltage while running and feedback here

Hmmm...

I would suggest that the battery going flat is a symptom not the cause. As Chris said, I agree you need to work out what's going on with the wiring for the fans.

Also do check the voltage you have at the battery (i) engine off and (ii) engine running, you should have about 14.5 volts across the battery engine running.

Where abouts in London are you?

Hello

It seems I don't have a problem after all !
Took tvr out last night. Had fans running. All lights. Inc highbeam. Heater blower. Radio. Panel lights. Rear screen... yes I was deep "off charge" but idling fine....

I think I have to work on my weber idling circuit...
Symptom is horrible low rpm idle. Good above 1500....
