Further to the ongoing Type 9 conversion, it seems cable clutch may be the way forward. To that end could someone with a late Vixen please advise the pedal box arrangement/clutch actuation for the cable clutch? I have a TR6 pedal box ready to adapt and just the details ie a pic etc of the box in situ from below and one from above should do the trick...
Many thanks
A

Sierra 1.6 bellhousing A, so gone full circle at least it has internals not made of unobtainium.
Hopefully the pedal box mods to cable can be done when I see what the details are, need to get out with it again it's been off the road too long!
Late Vixens were cable I believe?
A

Adrian, I don't know if it's original, but my Vixen S3 had a cable clutch when I bought it, and cover etc. is a professional moulding ?

here is pic of my Vixen S3 with a 2.8Efi Cologne engine during rebuild....

You can see clutch arrangement

basically a bracket which bolts on outside and along the top to carry cable, matched to a lever welded to top of pedal, with slot cut in top of pedal box and body.

I though I had a better close up photo....but this will have to do. Will add if I can find one with cover off - it's here somewhere...

That's great many thanks, the box unit looks like Triumph and I'm looking at Vixen1700's setup later as its off the car. I'll decide which way to go is the box in the way of the lube plate?

The pedal box I have knocking about as a spare has the extension from the clutch pedal to take the cable end its a TR one but don't know which. That's a start.

Fair enough !! so probably a home job then - still it works really well, nice and light, even on a V6 clutch.

V6PUSHFIT CHECK PHOTO ABOVE as our posts seem to have overlapped !!

VERY many thanks to you both - at last there's another option its a question now if the 'fabricated' clutch arm for hydraulic doesn't work then its cable - here are some pics of Vixen1700's pedal box - late Vixen: Note the arm lines up nicely with the master cylinder c/l ready for Adrians cast contraption, and narrow clutch pedal position:

Heres the TR one (dont know what it was from as TR6's were all hydraulic) - see arm which is nearly in c/l and wide clutch pedal needing mods:

Thanks

A OK I'll use the first as a pattern. I'll know by this time next week if I'm going cable route in which case it's straight into a cast piece of art from Adrian and pedal box modifications.
Many thanks for the help again

I was wondering what to mods were too, the '1700' box is original Vixen and the TR one matches it apart from the clutch pedal being a bit of a leg out of bed. Looks like a tweak of the pedal and it'll slip into place. Adrian's cast cable end we're away.....um.. aren't we?

I know this is an old post but just come across it thought my Picts might help someone in future. I own a 1969vixen with the V6 Colone engine and mk 9 ford five speed box with cable clutch mine was converted by the previous owner to take the ford pedal and ratchet . See pictures , maybe another way to do it ratherthan weld the pedal .

Just remembered to add that mine does have a pedal stop adjusting bolt. Hope these Picts might help someone, just another method of doing the same job.

Interesting - I wonder what the pedals and quadrant are from. Where is the ratchet you refer to?
