Orange Vixen at auction?
Discussion
Did anyone see the orange Vixen that sold at the Leamington Spa auction on Saturday?

From the photos, it looked like a very nice car, so at just over £14k was it a bargain?
Anyone know it or have a good look at it?

hi yes i was there to possibly bid
the car was in good condition. chassis/body was good
the gearbox isnt original and the throw was so short and stiff. clutch also quite stiff
i was surprised how offset the vixen pedals are to the right-- this normal?
i think maybe a tad overpriced, hence i didnt bid-- sold to a phone bidder 13800 i recall

Yep. Pedals offset (at least in the early S2 models with the TVR pedal box) and the steering set at an alarming angle but you soon get used to it - all part of the Vixen charm. Not sure why the clutch should be particularly heavy but not a hugely expensive or difficult problem to resolve, especially if you wanted to go back to the original 4 speed box. If the chassis and the body/paintwork were in good order then I think the new owner did very well.

Based on your summary it seems a relative bargain. I wouldn't be surprised if Vixens go through the roof at some point. As Andy says they do have real 'charm'. They also have rarity, good looks and when sorted they're great to drive.
