*** Wanted *** 3000 S window frame
Discussion
are these the ones you need?
made a few sets, made a exchange with one for other stuff,
needed one myself, one set got damaged while rechroming,
I can make steelwork but the chrome or paintwork has to be done
by who?If the chrome- work is badly done,my reputation is shot, that is why
I did not send any more quotes or emails to anyone,
I quess if someone needs a set, they know where to find me and what can be done,
email me for any questions regarding the subject,
cheers
Rudy

I agree Adrian,I made the inner frontscreen new as it was rusted away,
a hell off a job!

I would really like to see that ...there is already enough issues with the current glass being make for the TVR 3000S that, IMHO it is not the same shape as the original glass, and that EVERY screen frame I have every made, where I am using the old screen as a template (because I do not want to damage the new screen in fitting tweaking and refitting, tweaking) requires a final fit up AND tweaking of the S/S outer frame with a special dolly with the new glass (that final work can take up to 2 hours).
IMHO this is the most complex job that you could ever do to a TVR of ANY era.

i think the windscreen on Steve Reids car is Jensen healey cut down
The windscreen on my car is a cut down TVR 3000S windscreen. It is cut down to allow rubber packers in the top and bottom corners so the glass was not metal to glass, the cause of the screens cracking when the body flexed. Dave Wallis at Coupe,s used to have what I understood was the factory jig and he used to make excellent quality screen surrounds out of it ( the only half decent frames I have ever seen). He used to galvanise them and then paint them.
When he stopped making them I tried to buy the jig but someone had thrown it in the scrap.
It is true that TVR used some of the same if not all of the metal sections that were used on the Jensen Healey ( Jensen made the screen surrounds and side screens for TVR who forgot to pay for them) but the TVR screen surround bears no resemblance to the Jensen surround, it was a different shape and the overall height and width were different. It would be difficult if not pointless trying to alter a Jensen frame if you could find one in decent condition. It would only be of any use to provide certain sections to repair a salvageable TVR frame.

Here in the Netherlands we have 6 x 3000S owners who like to order a new front windscreen frame. It looks like no one has a mould and they only can be made custom on the car like Adrian can.
the problem is to bring 6 cars over to the uk. So,are there maybe more 3000S owners in the UK or Europe interested in a new frame so that we maybe can develop a mould and produce frames. What do you think ?

I did call Louwman (NIMAG) TVR importer . They said it was too long ago and have no records anymore to check this.
Does anyone have more ideas?
