Having just got a 3000M (and enjoying it) I have to wonder, do most people progress through the ranks of new TVRs?
I'd love to have a go in a Griff or Cerb, but would I be left with no option but to sell everything I own in order to have one?
What are other people's experiences?
The new cars look great, but the old ones seem more exclusive in a funky kind of way.....

Some progress fowards, some go backwards to Vixens, othere like myself just meandered around, after buying by 77 Taimar I subsequently bought 1600M, 3000M, Griffith500 (girlfriends!!), Vixen S1 and Grantura Mk1.
If you're enjoying the 3000M, keep on enjoying it, when you don't any more or want a change then change it.
IMHO the oder you go the more fun they are to drive but they are much rawer cars, the 3000M will be positively refined compared to a Grantura or Vixen!

I think it depends on the individual. I feel that many of the owners of the newer models buy them because they're flashy fast sportscars with 'bang for the bucks'. Many of these are not TVR enthusiasts and will either upgrade to a newer TVR or another make.
The classic TVRs offer more rarity and exclusivity than the Griff / Chim / Cerb etc and why change a good classic TVR for something more common.
I initially wanted a 3000S but couldn't find a decent one at the time so I ended up with a S3 (since sold) but I tend to look at a classic TVR more than a modern.
Cheers,
JSG.
